The objective of the project is to support the World Resources Institute in the development, maintenance and hosting of an interactive mapping functionality for WRI's nutrient trading website, NutrientNet.
CARES will develop an ArcIMS-based mapping functionality to replace the static JPG-based images that the current NutrientNet prototype supports. The ArcIMS mapping functionality will provide map navigation functions and will implement scale and/or area dependent data layers and labels, so the display and symbol rendering of data layers and images will be dependent upon the user's viewing scale and areas. WRI will provide U. of Missouri-CARES with necessary shape files and images for the mapping site. The ArcIMS functionality will be imbedded into the NutrientNet website in coordination with WRI's website developers, Abt Associates.
CARES will host, maintain and provide access to the ArcIMS functionality to support the use of NutrientNet in the Chesapeake Bay.
